Every NVISION website and digital marketing project starts with listening to our client’s story, understanding the value they offer and their challenges in expressing that value to customers. We knew we were in for a wild ride when Orthogonal approached us to promote their product, OSCoR, the “world’s only photolithography chemical set compatible with organic electronic materials.” Oh yeah? … Cool!
And not only does the site need to quickly and easily convey OSCoR’s technology and value to potential customers, it must attract new investors too. OK? Off you go.
The Strategy
In a nutshell, OSCoR is a technology for TV, mobile device and virtual reality displays that delivers three times or more the resolution of current technologies. While that’s a great story to tell, the starting point was key. How do we get the viewer from the moment they land on the site, to understanding the complex technology behind OSCoR - considering that online attention span is measured in seconds!
Luckily we listen to our customers. In a discovery meeting, one of Orthogonal’s founder’s mentioned the “screen door effect” to explain why today’s technology is limited in resolution and OSCoR isn’t. That’s it! There’s our starting point. If you’re a little confused about what OSCoR is or does, you can visit the site right now and the very first call-to-action you’ll see is “Learn More About the Screen Door Effect”, below a video that graphically recreates the effect. Much more inviting than “Learn More About Photolithography Chemical Sets & Organic Electronic Materials”.
With that clear understanding of OSCoR’s ultimate benefit clearly stated up front, the rest of the story, including a deeper understanding of the technology and the solutions it fosters, is easier to understand and appreciate. And not only does it work for the techies that buy OSCoR, but for the investors who can quickly appreciate the opportunity for tidy returns that OSCoR presents.
