Three sites. One connected ecosystem.Their website had to catch up.

YUSC came to us with a fragmented digital presence. The main hub buried information, the catering brand had no booking path, and the campus pub ran event signups through Google Forms. We rebuilt it as one platform.

The Challenge

Three brands. One stretched-thin website that constrained the business instead of supporting it.

“Three brands sharing one constraint: sites that constrained the business instead of supporting it.”

— NVISION discovery note

YUSC.ca was meant to be the central hub for student services, but information was buried, layouts were heavy, and the experience broke down on mobile, where most students live. Admin staff couldn’t update content without a developer.

Cornerstone, the catering and events service, ran on a single-scroll page with no service depth, no SEO foundation, and no clear booking path. Internal confusion between Cornerstone and YUSC about who handled which inquiries created friction on both sides.

Break Room had built a strong student following, but its site couldn’t keep up. Event listings stacked endlessly down a single page, registration ran through Google Forms, and the design didn’t match the venue’s Gen-Z energy.

Our Approach

How we solved it

We approached this as one connected ecosystem rather than three separate builds. Each site needed its own identity and purpose, but they had to work together as a coherent whole — and every property needed to give YUSC staff full editing control without dependency on developers.

Step 01

Map the Ecosystem

We separated the three brands by purpose, audience, and tone, then identified what they shared underneath — the platform, the admin layer, the team running them.

  • Stakeholder interviews across 3 brands
  • Information architecture audit
  • Admin workflow mapping
  • Cross-brand inquiry routing

Step 02

Build Three Distinct Sites

YUSC mobile-first and service-led. Cornerstone polished and bookable. Break Room playful with an interactive event calendar replacing the Google Forms.

  • YUSC service IA
  • Cornerstone booking flows
  • Break Room event calendar
  • Brand-aligned visual systems

Step 03

Hand Over the Keys

All three sites delivered on a CMS that gives YUSC staff full editing control across all properties. No more dev tickets for routine updates.

  • Unified CMS backend
  • Per-brand admin permissions
  • Event registration system
  • Inquiry routing automation
